International Arbitration Center in New York

New York has been at the center of finance and commerce for hundreds of years. Because of that experience, New York brings a very settled commitment to the law according to Joseph Mc Lauglin of New York (JAMS) in a task force report to the House of Delegates meeting of the New York State Bar Association on June 25, 2011.
The report affirms that New York’s legal prowess is so respected throughout the world that international companies and commercial litigators use the state’s arbitrators and courts because they trust New York’s objectivity, fairness, and expertise in resolving complex disputes.
New York has the legal tradition, the experienced judges, arbitrators and counsel and comprehensive commercial law to maintain and to strengthen its position as the global center of finance and commerce.
Thus, the task force according to McLauglin encourages the establishment of a permanent international arbitration proceedings in New York City considering that New York has been a major player in resolving global arbitration disputes in the traditional areas of contract interpretation, mergers and acquisitions, construction disputes and oil and gas issues – the hardy perennials of arbitration.
