WHAT SHOULD IMMIGRANTS PREPARE TO DO WHILE CONGRESS PROPOSES TO GRANT “PAROLE” TO SEVEN (7) MILLION UNDOCUMENTED ALIENS?

The U.S. Congress is currently proposing a bill that would grant “PAROLE” to almost seven (7) million immigrants with unlawful status or undocumented aliens in the United States.
This “PAROLE” bill would grant those with unlawful status who entered or have been residing in the United States before January 1, 2011, with work authorizations and allowed to travel abroad. The bill would also allow those with unlawful status to apply for a driver’s license.

The “GRANTS of PAROLE” would be good for FIVE (5) years, renewable for another FIVE (5)-year period.

Applicants for “PAROLE” must pass a criminal and national security background check.

In the current House version of the bill, Democrats have also included a provision allowing immigrants to access green cards that have gone unused, usually because of bureaucratic delays, dating as far back as 1992. Depending on how the program is implemented, more than 2.2 million visas could be “recaptured” in order to reduce backlogs and wait times by as much as 20 years, according to calculations by David Bier, a research fellow at the Cato Institute, a libertarian think tank. For someone “at the back of the line,” Bier says, “this would be a monumental difference.”
